The Numazu Summer Festival and Kano River Fireworks Festival began in 1948 (Showa 23), shortly after the war, as a project to revitalize the citizens and rebuild the shopping district.
It is the largest urban fireworks display in the Tokai region, and has become a summer tradition in Numazu City.
Why not watch the Kano River Fireworks Festival from a boat this year?
Chidori Kanko Kisen will be sailing a fireworks viewing boat on the Kano River on both the 29th and 30th!
